[Per Press Association.! AUCKLAND, June 20. Mihimi and his wife were, on the information of F. D. Rich, charged at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, with malicious injury to property, by pulling up and destroying a culvert on the Patatere Estate. The evidence disclosed a question of title, and this qualified the alleged malice in the act. The Court adjourned the case till July 8, when the accused will be tried on the second information of destroying a bridge, and the Court will give its decision on the present case. The Natives were set at liberty on promising to appear. NEW PLYMOUTH, June 21. An attempt was made this morning t float off the stranded steamer Wanaka, but it proved unsuccessful. Sne was moved a short distance. Another attempt will be made on Monday morning, itis hoped with better results. WELLINGTON, June 20. Information has been received by the San Francisco mail of the death of Captain Power, of the ship Turakina, in London, on May 16, from influenza. GRBYMOUTH, June 20. Tho barricade erected to stop the harbour works has been removed by tho parties who erected it, and without any arrangement with the Board. The works are still stopped. DUNEDIN, June 20. One publican’s and two bottle licenses in the. city have been forfeited through failure in the payment of fees.
