[Br SLSCTEIO TMLEQRAPB^COFTEWET.J [Special to Press Association.] FURTHER STRIKES. THE LABOUR FEDERATION. [Received Nov. 20, at 12.15 p.m.l LONDON, Nov. 19. The employees in the spike and nail manufactories in Worcester and Stafford have gone out on strike for higher wages. The brewing firms at Burton-on-Trent have conceded the demand of the maltsters, and the latter have resumed work. The General Steam Navigation Company, and the London and Coastwise Shipping Companies threaten an early suspension of the coastal trade owing to the action of the dock labourers. Tillett, Chairman of the Labourers’ Union, is organising the Hamburg dock labourers, and inviting them to work with the London Union. A Congress of the Trade Unions throughout Great Britain will meet in January nszt, to elect a Federal Council. The refusal of a dozen clerks and foremen, at Tilbury docks, to join the Union, as it was contrary to their agreement with the Company, is causing a strike of 1600 dockmen. In order to prevent outsiders coming to work in London, the dock labourers have decided to close the Union entrance lists at an early date. [Heooivod. Nov. 20, at 8 p.m.] John Burns, the leader of the dockers’ strike, suggests that the surplus fund should bo invested in the names of Messrs Sydney Buxton and Spencer Charrington, M.P.’s, himself, and two others, for the benefit of the dockers.
