PRESENTATION.

Os Saturday afternoon a presentation of a more than usually interesting and hearty character took place at the Queen’s Hotel, Manchester street. The occasion was the retirement from active service of Mrf Alexander Grant, who, daring the past 14 yean, has travelled to and from the west Coast in charge of cattle. ;Mr Grant has made, on an average, 13 trips ' every year, and has usually bad m his cate about 60 head of cattle on each occasion. Falling health having compelled Mr Grant to retire from a pursuit involving so many hardships, Messrs S. Garforth, F. 0. Tabari, and| other gentlemen -connected with the-West, Coast, cattle trade, together with a few of Mr Grant’s friends and acquaintances, determined that in some way they would give tangible proof of their esteem , and goodwill.
