Wanaka mot Clyde in the second Flag match of the season at Pembroke on Saturday last (writes our Wanaka correspondent). The day was fine, but the ground was rather heavy after the recent rains. Neither team played full strength, but Wanaka had a runaway victory by 2t points to nil. The local team had the best of the game all through, and although they did not get the ball from the pcrum they were too fast in the open. Wanaka's score was made up of tries pcored by J Samson, L Quyton, and H Robertson (ono converted by Samson), two goals potted by D Anderson, and a goal from a penalty. Mr D Cahill, of Cromwell, controlled the game to the satisfaction of all concerned. Messrs Bremnerand Smait were line umpires. Wanaka hope to have a stronger team when thoy journey to Cromwell to moot the local club on Satuaday next.
