HOCKEY.

Oa Saturday last the final match of the season, Seniors v. High School, was played in the recreation groundThe ground was in good order and a fair number of spectators were present to witness the game, which proved very interesting The teams were evenly matched, although High School was one player short. Early in the first spell the Seniors scored a goal, being the only score at half-time. In the second spell Seniors and High School each succeeded in scoring a goal—making the result Seniors 2, High School 1. The game has become very popular and it is expected that next season will see the membership considerably increased and a Ladies’ club formed in Queenstown. The members of the Club were entertained by a few of the Seniors in the Parish Hall, on Friday evening last. The evening was devoted to games and dancing. A recitation was given by Mr H. Pittaway and a solo by Mr Blackie. Liberal refreshments were provided and altogether a pleasant evening was spent.
