A MAORI PROPHET.

A message from Rotorua states that ;v Maori named Ilua, styling himself a prophet and brother of Jesus Christ, is causing considerable unrest among the natives of Whakatane district. Largo numbers follow him from place to place. Ho claims ho can heal the sick, restore the sight and raise the dead, if not dead more- than two hours. A largo house is to built (it Giabourno for the now Messiah and King at a cost of three millions. NumbeiH of natives aro selling their horses, cattle and crops to raise money to follow tho prophet. It is reported that 500 aro following him now. Many of them volunteered, and are sjrmed with modern firearais. It is feared the result will be a breach of tho peace. Rua is a son of To Kooti.
