Italy & Abyssinia.
Homk, March 7
The Shoas have surrounded Adigrat which has only three days’supplies. General B ildissera reports that the position in Abyssinia is very serious. It is impossible, he says, to relieve the 2000 Italian troops’ who sought refuge at Adigrat. He has asked for reinforcements to relieve the garrison at Asmara. A large army of Dervishes sur-
rounded and isolated Kassala, and then cut the wires. Two thousand men had left Asmara for the relief of those surrounded, and it is feared they have been intercepted. A section of the Chamber of Deputies advise the Government to abandon Erythrea. Fifty cities have carried resolutions protesting against the conduct of Signor Orispi, and demand that peace be declared. Three hundred rioters have been arrested in' Rome. The riots have been renewed in Galliano and Milan. The troops charged the mob and fired their revolvers. Fourteen people were wounded. The Shoas captured General Armionde.
Russian newspapers are collecting funds for the relief of the Abyssinians wounded in the recent engagements with Italians.
The riots throughout Italy continue. Marquis Rudini succeeds Signor Orispi as Premier. The Italian Garrison will evacuate Kassala. The latest news is that the troops in Adigrat have a month’s provisions and ammunition. The Italian losses in the recent engagement were 7000 white troops.
