ARAPAE
(Own Correspondent.) The hall committee held a dance in aid of the hall funds on Saturday, 30th January, and despite counterattractions, the hall was crowded. Dancing was enjoyed to music provided by Miss M. Trembath, Miss B. Trembath and Mr. J. Mills giving extras, and Messrs, Fox gave a helping hand with the cornet. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr. G. Weir and Miss N. Trembath. Annual Picnic. The annual picnic was held on the 31st January on the Trembath property, the weather and place both being ideal for a picnic. The swimming pool was astir all day. There were races for the children, every child receiving a prize. The sack and three-legged races for adults were well patronised, both by ladies and gentlemen, and caused a good deal of merriment. Games were played until the billy boiled, then there was a general rush for tea, and home for the cows. Personal. Mrs. Hobday and her son Cecil, of Manaia, have been spending a few days with Mrs. E. V. K. Allison. Miss E. Allison is in New Plymouth as the guest of Mrs. Dawson for a few days. Miss E. Weir recently left for Taumarunui where she has token up a position. Miss G. Allison has returned from a camping tour of Tongaparutu *md Matamata districts. Mr. and Mrs. Fox and family spent the week-end with Mrs. Trembath, “View Hill.”
