COLLISION ON BRIDGE

MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED. Injuries to his face and leg were received by a Maori, John Joseph, yesterday, when the motor cycle he was riding collided with a lime lorry driven by Mr. H. Beable on the bridge near the Hangatiki railway station. Mr. Beable was driving the lorry over the bridge when a motor cycle on which there were two Maori boys came round the corner from the railway station. The cycle struck the lorry and the two Maoris were thrown on to the bridge. The driver, Joseph, received injuries, but fortunately they were not of a serious nature, while the pillion rider escaped with the loss of a couple of teeth.
