TE KUITI SPORTS CLUB
INITIAL EVENING MEETING. DECISION TO HOLD WEEKLY, The initial evening sports meeting was held on Thursday evening on the Domain before an interested number of spectators, when two cycling, two running events and one field event were run off. The initiative of the Sports Club was well rewarded as spirited competition took place in the events on the programme, which commenced promptly at 6.30 p.m. It was decided in view of the support given by both competitors and spectators, to hold the evening meeting weekly instead of fortnightly as first })roposed, and the next meeting is to take place on Thursday next, February 7, at 6.30 p.m. The cyclingevents will be the same as last meeting, viz.,' 1-mile and 2-mile cycle, and the running 100yds, and 220yds, while a shot-putting event will also be held. Intending competitors will assist tho committee by notifying the secretary, Mr. Innes Jones, Chronicle Buildings, of their intention to compete, so that the handicapping will not delay -the running of the various events. Post entries will, of course, be accepted on the grounds. If sufficient support is accorded it is intended also to run a ladies’ 50 yards handicap race.
