LONG CYCLE TRIP

700 MILES IN SEVEN DAYS. TE KUITI LADS’ JOURNEY. Very fast time was made by two Te Kuiti, youths, A. Patorson and J. Ormsby, on a cycle trip to and from Wellington. The pair arrived back in Te Kuiti on Thursday, stating that they had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Only three days were taken on the 340 miles run to Wellington. The first sleep was in Wanganui. The pair left early in the morning, arrived at Mokau before 10 a.m., spent the day and until midnight swimming and on the sands, and then straightway proceeded to Wanganui, where they bedded down for the first time. Eight days were spent in Wellington, and, owing to strong head winds, the return trip occupied four days—it was admitted that the 561 b of equipment carried both ways on each cycle became rather heavy.
