GERMAN IRONWORKERS.
INCREASE IN WAGES (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 10.15 a.m.) Berlin, December 16. After a week of arbitration negotiations at Essen and Dusseldcrf between the employers and workers, the big German iron firms averted closing down their works, which the employers threatened in reply to the union’s demands for wage increases and diminution of working hours. Employers have now agreed to increase wages about 2 per cent., while either a three-shift or a twoshift system will be introduced in certain mills.
