NEW ROAD DISTRICT.

. KE-ARRANGEMENT PROBABLE. It is rumoured that a re-arrange-ment has been made in connection with the road district. Mr Williams, formerly district road engineer for Marlborough, who has been at Taumurunui for the past six or seven months, is to have charge of the Taumarunui district. Mr Murray will have charge of the Taranaki district, extending to l'atea and including the Tangaraku gorge, and as far North as Mokau. Mr Reaney, formerly in charge of Wanganui district, returns to the charge of his old district. In regard to the old Te Kuiti diatirct, extending from Kawhia right on to A wakino, this will probably be put iri charge of Mr Burd- -at any rate included in the Auckland district. No doubt this will be an arrangement very much appreciated in and a-ound Te Kuiti, if the facts are as stated, and our information comes from an authentic source. |lf wo had a resilient engineer-iii-charge, empowered to deal on the spot with plans and speeihrauons submitted by the County engineer, it i would save an immense amount ol' time, truiil'l ' and exm-nse to the disi trici.
