WEDDING
B ARNE S- -BLOXHAM. A very pretty wedding was solemnised recently at St. Paul’s Church, Kaiapoi, when Miss May Louise Bloxham, niece of Mr and Mrs P. H. Edmonds, Pcraki Street, was married to Edward Aldridge, second son of iMr and Mrs F. H. Barnes, Kaiikoura. The officiating minister was the Rev. G. AV. T. He reus. The bride, who was given away by Mr J. AValker, wore a gown of white satin and lace, with a beautifully-em-broidered tulle veil and orange blossom (the gift of her sister). She carried a bouquet of freisias and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister Ida as chief bridesmaid and Miss Ella Baines (sister of the bridegroom). They were attired in ankle-length frocks of salmon pink phantom crepe with wreaths of velvet flowers in their hair. They carried bouquets of hyacinths and fern, and wore crystal necklets, gifts of the bridegroom. Margaret MacFarlane, as flower girl, wore an early Victorian frock of sapphire blue velvet, and carried a posy of grape hyacinths and forget-me-nots. The best man was the bridegroom’s brother, Mr Leith Barnes, and the groomsman was Mr AV. Thompson. A reception was held in the Orange Hall, where Mrs Edmonds, wearing a frock of brown floral moracain, assisted by Mrs Barnes, attired in a frock of blue floral moracain, received the guests. Each -carried bouquets to tone with their dresses. About seventy guests sat down to the wedding breakfast, where the usual toasts were honoured. The bride and bridegroom received many beautiful and useful presents. Later they left for a motor tour in the south.
