KAIKOURA POST OFFICE
Mr E. P. Meaehen, M.P., has received the following from the Hon. F. Jones, Postmaster-General:—ln regard to the representations made by the recent deputation from Kaikoura for the early replacement of the existing Post Office building at that place, I have to in-
form you that I looked into the matter on my return to AVellington and ascertained that it had been decided not to carry out any extensive work to the existing Post Office until my Department has had an opportunity of studying the possible development due to the proposed completion of the South Island Main Trunk Railway. You may rest assured that, if it is’ found that circumstances justify the immediate replacement of the existing Post Office building, the work will be put in hand with the least possible delay.
