KAIKOURA COLLIE CLUB
The annual trials of the Kaikoura Collie Club opened on Monday in cold weather, with intermittent showers. The officials had performed good work and conditions were made as comfortable as possible . for competitors and spectators and are worthy of congratulation on the manner in which the trials were conducted. Tuesday the conditions were similar to the opening day, but at 3.30 the huntaway had to be postponed until yesterday owing to a heavy downpour of rain. Results are as follows: Heading and Holding in Ring (37 entries) : L. Tisch’s Fay, 42 points 1 R- Smith’s Alay, 41J points 2 Crossley Bros. Joy, 41 points 3 J. The annual dance conducted by the Kaikoura Collie Dog Club was held at the Suburban Hall last night, when, notwithstanding the unfavourable weather conditions, there was a good attendance, and an enjoyable lime was spent to music supplied by Mr W. Thomas, extras being played by Aliss M. Wareham and Air AV. Toombs. The Af.Cs. were Alessrs R. Collyns and E. Lawson. Air G. E. T. and Mrs Shand made the presentations of trophies won •during the trials, congratulating the winners on their success, and the officials on the efficient manner in which the trials had been conducted.
