SIR HENRY WIGRAM’S WILL

A total of £190,000 is the amount at which the estate of Sir Henry Wigrain will be sworn for probate. Two legacies are. left to public organisations in Christchurch, and the rest of the estate will be absorbed by the payment of numerous bequests to relatives in England and New Zealand, to friends and business associates, and to Sir Henry’s personal attendants. Not. one of those who have cared for him during bis many years of ill-hcalth have been omitted from mention in his will. Two public bequests which have been made are to the Nurse Afaude District Nursing Association and to the Royal Life-Saving Society. The Nurse Afaude Association will receive £5OO and the Life-Saving Society £lOO, “to be used for such special purposes as the committee of the Canterbury head centre may think fit.” Many years ago Sir Henry expressed his intention to leave a large sum of money for the furthering of aviation in New Zealand. However, be decided that the money could be used to better advantage during his lifetime, and up to the time of his death bad given a sum pf nearly £50,000 to the cause of aviation in the Dominion.
