HOCKEY

A meeting of the committee of the Kaikoura Ladies’ Hockey Club was held at West End on Alonday evening. Air W. A. Ferry presiding. Satisfactory arrangements having been made regarding travelling, it was decided to carry on with the Alt. Palm competition. The opening match of the season will be played on Wednesday next against the Waiau team, at Kaikoura. All intending players arc asked to be in attendance at the showgrounds on Saturday afternoon, when a team will be chosen from those present. The following arc particularly requested to be on the ground at 2 p.m.: AL Osmond, Al. Trudgian, E. Wareham, AL Wareham, J. Harris, E. Adair, N. Lawson, E. Lawson, K. Ferry, N. Pluck, V. Pluck, B. Wallace, B. Borthwick, S. Burrows, E. Cruse, Brenda Perrin, Beryl Perrin, and A. E. Flower.
