PARENTS DAY
KOPUKU SCHOOL ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW HELD
Parents’ day was held at Kopuku school on November 14 last, when the annual flower show and handwork display took place. The school sweet peas, grown from specially selected seeds, were well up to standard and made a lovely splash of colour. • The champion bloom was grown by Graham Shadbolt. A magnificent delphinium exhibited by Rodney Price was greatly admired and was champion of the show. In several of the decorative classes the boys won prizes and their handwork was good. The sewing displayed by the girls was excellent and the parents spent some considerable time admiring all the exhibits put out for their inspection. Entries in all sections of the show were good and Mrs F. Symes was the judge. Afternoon tea was served after which Mr F. Arthur, on the parents’ behalf, thanked the teachers and Mrs Hare for their kindness and interest in the children during the year. Mr Hare suitably replied, reciprocating seasonal greetings and another happy school function was concluded.
