PONY CLUB

FIRST MEET OF SEASON ASSEMBLY AT MARAMARUA A very happy group of children assembled for the first meet of the Maramarua branch of the Franklin Pony Club, on Mr H. Jones’ proprety recently. In his address of welcome the senior instructor, Mr W. Lawson, complimented the young members for turning their ponies out so well after the winter adjournment and outlined future plans. He specially welcomed new members and hoped they and their ponies would soon be quite at home in the branch. The weather was perfect and Instructors V. Wood l and L. Maher exercised the various groups. Among the riders were:— Mary Collins on Peanut, Barry Hale on Quickstep, David Burling on Twilight, Paul Cummins on Prince, Peter Hale on Darkie, Richard Lawson on Lady, Pixie Lawson on Spats', Judy Lawson on Smoky, Florence Jones on Jingle, Margaret Jones on Beauty, Joy Jones on Pinnochio, Dawn Jones on Bluebird, Barry Hodder on Macko, Nita Ratahi on Silver, June Ratahi on Flicker, Mary Cummins on Toby, Claudia Ker on Lassie, Lorraine Ker on Mary Lou, Jeanette Wood on Booramby, Pam Soppat on Wee Pat, Lorraine Soppat on Misty, Shirley Maher on Dainty, Annette Maher on Bonnie, Beverley Maher on Chum, A. Skuddah on Sabu, Skuddah on a bay and two Middleton children on bays.
