OPPOSUM BOUNTY

APPLICATION FOR GRANT ' HAURAKI CATCHMENT BOARD A request for a grant of £3OO from, the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council for the purpose of paying a bounty of 1/- for each opossum destroyed in the Hauraki Catchment Board’s district is to be made by the catchment board. The matter became the subject of a discussion at the September meeting of the board held recently in Te Aroha when a resolution was carried that application be made for the grant. The chairman of the board, Mr H. M. Corbett, informed members that it was expected that a reply would be received from the council in time to be placed before the next meeting of the board.
