WOMEN’S DIVISION

ORONGO BRANCH MEETS RESULT OF COMPETITIONS The July meeting of the Orongo branch pf the Wronen’s Division of Federated Farmers was held recently at the home of Mrs N. Woods where Mrs Fargher presided in the absence of the president, Mrs McCoid. Miss E. Clevely was welcomed as a new member and a letter from Mrs J. Clark was read thanking the members for their kind thoughts whilst she was an inmate of the Thames hospital. Two letters were written at the meeting, one to Mrs E. Nash, the other to Mrs Clevely, and both were signed by all the members present and sent to the two members at present in the Thames hospital.

Final arrangements were made at the meeting for the celebration of the birthday of the branch at the end of the month.

The results of the competitions were as follow: Best bloom, Miss E. Clevely 1, Mrs Batchelor 2; mystery parcel, Mrs Egan; wall competition, Mrs Batchelor.

The serving of afternoon tea brought a happy gathering to a close.
