SCHOOL BUSES
POSSIBLE RE-ORGANISATION CONFERENCE TO BE HELD The Paeroa District High School : Committee has received advice from the Auckland Education Board that it is now proposed to consider suggestions for the re-organisation of the school conveyance services in the Waitakaruru-Ngatea-Paeroa area. The board has accordingly notified the committee that the head teacher of the Paeroa school together with two representatives of the committee are required to attend a meeting at Ngates on Thursday, April 14, at 11 a.m., when the matter of school transport is to be fully considered. Jt was pointed out by members of the committee that a meeting had already been held some time ago at Netherton and that plans had been put forward there for the re-organisa-tion of the service but nothing further had ever been heard of the matter. Netherton parents had wished their children to be brought into the Paeroa school but now apparently there was objection to this from Ngatea. Members of the committee expressed the opinion that it was unfortunate if a spirit of parochialism was going tc enter into the solving of the school transport problem. The main consideration should be the convenience and the wishes of the Netherton residents. After discussion the committee appointed Mr E. Meyer, acting headmaster, the chairman, Mr S. Wheeler, and Mr L. Wrigley as its representatives to attend the meeting at Ngatea.
