WHARF SHED
CONGESTION OF GOODS
COMPLAINT TO COUNCIL
The congestion of goods at the Te Kuanga wharf shed was pointed out to the Coromandel County Council at its May meeting in a letter from the Mercury Bay Dairy Company. They stated that a ton of manure had had to be left outside the shed and had got wet in the recent rain. The clerk, Mr J. H. Lucas, stated that a letter had been sent to all persons who were not getting their goods away, urging them to do so as soon as possible. It was resolved to write to the dairy company stating that the council was doing all it could in this matter and also enclosing a copy of the circular letter. Cr. S. H. Leßoy-Dyson: It looks though they are complaining about what is their own fault. Various suggestions were put forward and it was finally resolved that the branch of the federated farmers be asked to set up a committee to control and deal with the shed and report to the council in cases of demurrage.
