PARKING AT CEMETERY
DIFFICULTIES POINTED OUT
TRAFFIC INSPECTOR’S REPORT
The parking difficulties at the Pukeriniu cemetery, Paeroa, were pointed, out to the November meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council by the Paeroa traffic inspector, Mr J. C. Pascoe, in his report to the council. “Observations show that on the occasion of funerals vehicles park on each side of the main highway below the crest of the hill and thus narrow the thoroughfare for through traffic. A vehicle travelling towards Paeroa is unaware of this bottleneck until reaching the crest of the hill,” Mr Pascoe stated.
The meeting instructed the clerk to approach the Public Works Department to see if arrangements could be made for parking at the cemetery.
