The chief postmaster, Thames, Mi R. W. Cardno, has received advice his retirement on superannuation o® December 31. Mr 'Cardno has been chief postmaster since the end September, 1945. He came to Thame* from Rotorua. He has taken a proaa inent part in local activities, including the children’s health camp committee which he organised here, and th< Thames Rotary Club. Mr Cardno wi! continue to reside in Thames.
