VISIT TO AUCKLAND KEREPEEHI CHILDREN THIRD ANNUAL VISIT Thirty-seven children from the Kerepeehi school, comprising Forms 1 and 2, under the control of three teachers are at present visiting Auckland. This is the third annual visit of children from the Kerepeehi school to Auckland. The cost of the trip to each child! is between 15s and £1 and-this money has been earned during, the last six t months by various methods such as the sale of bottles, the cutting of lawns, etc., or saved from their ■ , weekly allowances. As the money has been earned the children have taken it to school where it has been banked’ for them. The party left Kerepeehi on Monday morning at 7.30 a.m. per medium of . Messrs Durman Bros.’ bus, arriving in Auckland at approximately 10 a.m. Nine of the boys are ’billeted l at the , Y.M.C.A. while the test of the party is staying with relatives and friends. The programme while the party isf in Auckland will fee as under:— "T Monday, September 1: 10.30 a.m. visit museum; 12 a.m. lunch at ; Y.M.C.A.; 1 p.m. visit Henderson & Pollard’s timber factory; 3 p.m. summit of Mt. Eden;- 4 p.m. London exhibition; 5 p.m. dispersal at Ferry, Buildings. Tuesday, September 2: 8 a.m. assembly at Ferry. Buildings; leave for Naval Base and Dockyard, Devonport; 12 a.m. lunch at Y.M.C.A.; 1 p.m., leave for Whenuapai Air Station-;- 4 pan. tea at Y.M.C.A.; 5 p.m. Strand Theatre, “Tom Sawyer”; 7 pan. dispersal at Ferry Buildings. Wednesday, September 3: 8 a.m. assembly at Ferry Buildings; visit wharves; 9 a.m. shopping at Farmers’ Trading Company; 10.30 a.m. visit Town Hall where functions of city council will be explained :by the town clerk; 12 a.m. lunch at Y.M.C.A.; 1 p.m. leave for National Brush Company; 2.30 p.m. leave for Johnston’s Cardboard Factory; 6.30 p.m. arrive at Kerepeehi.
