WORK DELAYED

NOXIOUS WEED ERADICATION ACTIVITY ON THE PLAINS “ Owing to the very bad weather during the month, very little was accbmplished in weed eradication,” reported the noxious weeds inspector, Mr W. W. Williams, to the August meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. The report continued as under:—

“ Blackberry on many road frontages was attended to, some by spraying and some by cutting. “ Dog registrations were continued with, and whilst doing same I distributed about two cwt. of sodium for use on ragwort. .

“ Gi|ven mlore settled weather in August, I have made arrangements to have ragwort attended to on two properties in Netherton. I have endeavoured to have what little gorse there is attended to.”
