WAR INSURANCE

“ OUGHT TO BE WIPED OUT ” NATIONAL PARTY OPINION A question regarding the war risk insurance was .put to Mr A. S. Sutherland at a public meeting in Paeroa on Tuesday’night. The speaker asked what the National Party intended to do about the insurance, whether it was to be continued, and what would happen to the accumulated sum now held. The National Party had proposed the setting aside of the money already held as war risk insurance as a fund or insurance against earthquakes and other calamities. It would be very hard to repay it all, he said. In his opinion it ought to be stopped now, or at least reduced. If the party were put .into power it would go into the question fully, he said.
