HOSPITAL BUSES

MOVE FOR INAUGURATION •CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ACTS The inconvenience and hardship suffered by Paeroa residents in Thames hospital whose relatives could not get to Thames to visit them on Sundays, was mentioned by Mr P. H. Leigh at the meeting of the Paeroa Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, May 30.

If a patient’s relatives had no motorcars then the patient had to go without visitors because there was no bus service on Sunday, said Mr Leigh.

Now that the N.Z. Road Services had taken over the bus service, it should be possible to run a bus from Paeroa on Sundays at 1.30 p.m., returning at 4.30.

The. president, Mr N. C. Davies, said that he was sure that the’ department would give the matter its favourable attention. The secretary, Mr J. H. Bartlett, was instructed to write to the department on the question.
