NGATEA DOMAIN
REQUEST TO MINISTER
DEPUTATION TO WELLINGTON
a meeting of the Ngatea Domains Committee, I applied to the Minister of Lands for a grant of £6OO towards the cost of acquiring a further 15 acres as an adjunct to the existing domain. I think it would be advisable that a deputation of two, one councillor and one representing the subscribers should visit Wellington as soon as possible to interview the Minister and Under-Secretary for Lands,” reported the county clerk, Mr E. A. Mahoney, to the May meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. Cr. J. W. Neate was appointed to represent the council on the deputation to wait upon the Minister of Lands in Wellington.
