TAMPERING ALLEGED

WEST WATER SUPPLY INTERFERENCE 'WITH TUNNEL An explanation to the mystery surrounding the poor water pressure on the West water supply was offered by the county clerk, Mr E. A. Mahoney, at the May meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council, when he stated that the water supply engineer, Mr J. 'Bradford, had discovered indication that some person had been interfering with the water tunnel. The door to the tunnel was usually locked, but it appeared that tampering had’ been going on, with the result that the flow of water had been affected.

Expressing concern that anyone could cause any interference with the supply, the council decided to take firm action if any offenders were caught.
