CLUB FAREWELL

ngatea young farmers

MEMBER. OF THE J FORCE

A farewell dance in honour of Private H. Hughes, a member of the Ngatea Young Farmers’ Club, who is going overseas in the J Force, was held in the Ngatea Public Hall on Wednesday evening, April 24. There was a fair attendance of club members and friends. Music for dancing was supplied by “The Rhythmics” of Waitalcaruru.

After an excellent supper, a presentation from 1 the club, was made to Private Hughes, by Mr A. Cole, a member of the advisory committee. Private Hughes suitably replied. The winners of the monte carlos were Miss M. Flynn and Mr J. .Smith, Miss I. Capper arid Mr D. Bryant, Miss M. (Phelps and Mr A. Price. Winners of the “lucky” door numbers were Mr R. Laurence and Mr D. Fisher.

The duties of M.C. were ably carried out by R. A. Slatter, club secretary.
