INDUCTION OF VICAR
PARISH OF HAURAKI PLAINS
FUNCTION HELD AT TURUA
The Rev. W. R. Castle who is the newly appointed vicar of the Hauraki Plains Parish was recently inducted. The service was l conducted by Archdeacon Partridge, acting warden of St. John’s College, Auckland, and held at Holy Trinity Church, Turua. Parishioners from all parts of the plains, attended, and following the service opportunity was given to meet the Rev. and Mrs Castle. The Turua Ladies’ Guild supplied supper, which was served, in the church hall.
Mr C. W. 'Parfitt, people’s warden, in welcoming the new vicar, asked for co-operation between parishioners and the vicar, as the church belonged to all members and benefit would be assured with assistance from friends.
The Rev. Castle thanked Mr Parfitt and friends for the welcome accorded, Mrs* Castle and himself and assured them that he would do all he could for the parish.
The Rev, Castle has recently returned from four years spent as Cnaplain with, the forces overseas.
