DIED IN CAR
WAIKINO MAORI CHILD FALL WHILE PLAYING INQUEST HELD IN PAEROA An inquest into the cause of the death of a 16-months-old Maori child Nick Tuhimatarenga, a son of Mr and Mrs N. Tuhimatarenga of Waikino, was held in the -Paeroa Courthouse on Wednesday, the coroner being Mr G. Hedge, of Te Aroha. On Thursday, September 27, the child was playing with his sisters when he fell from, the verandah. He appeared to be alright but on Saturday, September 29, the child appeared unwell and was taken to a doctor in Waihi who ordered the child into hospital. The child was not taken to the hospital and on - Sunday, .September 30 the parents decided to take the child to a Paeroa doctor. On the way to Paeroa the child died in the car when passing through Karangahake. As a result of a postmortem examination ordered by the coroner, a verdict was returned that death was due to cerebral .haemorrhage caused by a fall at ‘his home. Constable V. L. Bagge of Paeroa conducted the inquest for the police.
