NEW YEAR’S EVE
CELEBRATIONS IN PAEROA CARNIVAL TO BE STAGED The question of celebrating the first peacetime Christmas and New Year for six years was raised by Mr W. Pirie at Wednesday’s meeting of the Paeroa Chamber of Commerce. Members considered that the carnival should again be instituted. It had been discontinued on account of the war but something could now be gone on with again. It was a benefit to the town and should receive the cooperation of all Paeroa people.
It was decided to refer the matter to the executive to make arrangements for holding a carnival on New Year’s Eve next.
