FINAL NIGHT

PAEROA OLD-TIME DANCE' GOOD NIGHT’S FUN PROMISED As advertised in this issue, the “Victory” Old-Time Dance will be held in the Civic Hall next Wednesday, October 10. This is the final of the series of old-time dances which have been held every month during the last few winters to help raise patriotic funds. During this: time many happy evenings have been spent by old-time dance enthusiasts with benefit to the various patriotic appeals, and it is confidently anticipated that next Wednesday’s “wind-up” effort will prove a ’fitting climax to the series. The Paeroa Melody Makers Dance Band has been engaged, and, Mr G. Vercoe is arranging a special programme for the occasion, including the veleta, two-step, three-step, la rinka, threesome reel, maxina, etc., as well as several novelties such as medleys, the slipper waltz, Monte Carlo waltz, and the more mod'ern but popular hokey tokey. As usual, the duties of M.C. will be in the capable hands of Mr W. Pirie, while the ladies of the committee have arrangements well in hand for a delightful savoury supper. Thus, with good music, efficient control, and an inviting supper a really happy evening is assured. Dancing will be from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., the charges being 3s for single tickets and 'ss for double tickets.
