VALLEY ASSOCIATION r ANNUAL MEETING HELD OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED The annual meeting of the Thames Valley Lawn Tennis Association was held' in Paeroa recently. Delegates present represented Piako Sub-Asso-ciation, Te Aroha Club, Te Aroha Domain Club, 'Paeroa Club, Paeroa Railway Club, Thames Club, Waihi Club, Ngatea Club, Kerepeehi Club. The following officers were elected: —Patron, iDr. Lawrence; president, Mr Stainton; vice-presidents, the presidents of all affiliated clubs; secretary, Mr J. Stevens; committee, the executive of the Waihi Club together with one delegate from each affiliated 1 club; sole selector, Mr H. Thorp. It was reported that the ball position was such that it was now not necessary to obtain a permit from the Auckland association to secure balls. The retail shops would have a good supply of all brands. It was decided to resume matches this season. The Lawrence Cup Tor A grade teams and Mills Cup for B grade, will be challenged for by the various clubs. It was agreed that a junior tournament be held in the six centres, Piako, Waihi, Paeroa, Thames, Te Aroha and Hauraki Plains in order to encourage junior players in the Thames Valley, the association to provide balls for any club conducting one of these tournaments.
