ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

KAIHERE SCHOOL FUNCTION TUIS NARROWLY DEFEAT KIWIS In spite of showery weather there was a large gathering of parents and friends at the annual sports day at the Kaihere School on Wednesday, December 6.

There was keen rivaliw between the two 1 house teams, Kiwis and Tuis, the Tuis winning by one point. A novel event was* a tug-of-war, parents taking sides as Tuis and Kiwis. Again the Tuis won. After afternoon tea had been served by the children, the gathering was address by the chairman of the Kaiherb School Committee, Mr G. Sexton, who then presented each child with a book.
