FAR FROM SATISFIED
VALLEY DRAINAGE BOARD MENACE OF POA AQUATICA He was far from satisfied with the statement by the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. B. Roberts, that in view of the fact that there was no known means of controlling poa aquatica, it could not be placed on the Noxious Weeds Schedule, said the chairman, Mr F. E. Hughes at the December meeting of the Thames Valley Drainage Board.
Recently in Wellington he had been assured by the Minister that steps would be taken to place the grass on the schedule if the consent of the affected local bodies was obtained. This had been done, and now the Minister had refused to move in the matter any further.
On the motion of Mr A. J. Luxton the matter was left in the hands of the chairman to write to the Minister expressing the board’s feelings on the subject. flllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllWllWWllllllllllMl lllll^
