OPINION IN t WAIHI MORE STATE HOUSES WANTED “ I hear that the Government is building another 20 houses in Thames. It is time we made a move to get more in Waihi,” said Cr. iS. Bonnici at a monthly meeting of the Waihi Borough Council. “ This gets me/’ said Cr. Bonnici. “Thames has a loan of about £290,000, and Waihi owes only about £6OOO. I move that we get in touch with our member, Mr James Thorn, and see why we cannot get more houses built here.” The motion was seconded by the deputy-Mayor, Cr. K. M. Wrigley, and carried unanimously.
