OBITUARY

MRS PHOEBE ADELINE PINCHESS

RESPECTED (PLAINS RESIDENT

The death occurred at the Thames Hospital last week of Mrs Phoebe Adeline Pinchess, of Waitakaruru, at "the age of 63 years. Born in Yorkshire, England, Mrs Pinchess came to New Zealand in 1906 to marry Mr F. Pinchess, the wedding being solemnised at Brookby near Howick. In 1911 Mr and Mrs Pinchess moved to Waitakaruru and have resided there ever since.

Throughout her life Mrs Pinchess proved a great worker for the church at Waitakaruru and was one of those responsible for clearing the debt from this building. She was also an interested supporter of the Women’s Institute.

(Mrs Pinchess was a greatly respected resident of the Hauraki Plains being always willing to do her part in all local organisations.

She is survived by her husband, Mr F. Pinchess and two brothers, Messrs S. E). Levers of Auckland and B. Levers of Doncaster, England. The funeral took .place at the Thames Cemetery on Thursday, there being a large attendance of the public together with many beautiful floral emblems including wreaths from the Waitakaruru Methodist Church and the church trustees.
