GRADE JERSEYS IN DEMAND SPECIAL SALE AT TE PUKE The' Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limite'd, report having held their usual stock and special dairy sale at Te Puke recently

when a full entry of all classes of cattle came forward. An average yarding, comprising mostly fat Jersey cows, was penned. Competition was steady and values remained firm. Boner cows met a good sale, a total clearance resulting. A full entry of dairy cattle, including the advertised herd of grade Jersey cows on account of Mr K. A. Bennett. These cattle created a good enquiry and elicited particularly brisk competition, from £2l to £26 being paid, for best cows. The lowest price was £l2, the whole herd averaging £l6 which is the highest average recorded in any district this season. Competition for other dairy cattle showing quality and close to profit was keen, but poorer conditioned and late calvers hard to quit. A small yarding comprising mostly stores. Values showed .an improvement on late rates. Quotations: —

Cattle.—Fat cows, £5 7s 6d to £5 12s; Jersey cows, £4 10s to £4 17s 6d; heavy boners, £3 10s to £4 7s; lighter, £2 2s 6d to £3 6s.

Dairy cattle.—Extra choice Jersey springing cows, £2l to £26; chqice Jersey cows, £l3 10s to £18; Jersey and Jersey Cross springing heifers, £5 to £6 7s 6d;

Pigs.—Light baconers, £3 to £3 4s; large stores, 38s to £2 Is; smaller stores, 27s to 35s‘; slips, 12s 6d to 16s 6d.
