“TWILIGHT SLEEP”

SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO ALL

HOSPITAL BOARD OPINION

Advised 'by the Department of Health that no change could be made by a hospital board on a patient for maternity benefits, the Thames Hospital Board last week decided on Mr C. W. Parfitt’s motion that the matron be empowered to engage an outside nurse for maternity cases when the number of patients in the annexe exceeded the number which the present staff could handle.

The matter had particular reference to the provision of ’’twilight sleep” at the annexe. Mr Parfitt urged that patients should have all the facilities science can provide.
