HERD AVERAGE OF £lO CLEARING SALE AT MANAWARU The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held a very successful clearing sale at Manawaru last week on account of Mr E. L. Scott of Manawaru.

The herd came forward in excellent condition and attracted a full bench of buyers, with a keen enquiry for good quality cows. 'Brisk bidding resulted and choice youhg Jersey cows made to £l4, the whole herd averaging £lO. Sundries also sold well at recent clearing sale rates. Realisations were:—Choice young Jersey and Jersey-cross dairy cows, July calvers, £l2 10s to £l4; Jersey and Jersey Cross cows, July and August calvers, £9 10s to £ll 10s; older cows, £7 10s to £8 15s; 2-year Jersey and Jersey-Cross heifers, close to profit, £8 15s to £lO 15s; medium quality Jersey calves, £3 15s.
