GOOD SALE HELD AT WAIHI £B/5/- PAID FOR EARLY CALVERS The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited report having held their fortnightly Waihi stock sale last week when a good yarding of all classes of cattle and dairy cattle came forward. Pigs were also penned in average numbers and a good sale resulted. Quotations. —
Cattle.—Heavy second quality Jersey cows, £5 2s 6d to £6 15s; heavy boner cows, £3 15s to £4 16s; medium, £2 10s to £3 ss; light, 25s to £2 ss; yearling heifer calves, £2 5s to £3 ss.
Dairy cattle. —Jersey and Jersey Cross dairy cows, July calvers, £8 5s to £9 10s; later calvers, £6 10s to £7 15s; older cows, £4 5s to £5 ss; Jersey and Jersey Cross heifers, to £l2 10s.
Sheep.—Forward conditioned lambs, 14s to 16s 6d.
Pigs.—Heavy baconers, to £4 4s; heavy porkers and light baconers, £2 14s to £3 ss; medium porkers, £2 5s to £2 12s; light porkers, 34s to £2 2s; large stores, 27s to 325; smaller, 20s to 255; slips, 12s to 16s 6d; weaners to 10s 6d; sows in farrow, 25s to £2 15s.
