£4/6/- FOR BACONERS

KEEN DEMAND AT MATAMATA

WEANERS HARD TO QUIT

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report that at their fortnightly Matamata stock sale a good yarding of sheep, comprising mostly store lambs, was penned. Competition for these was not as keen as at recent sales, but a small offering’ of mutton sold under spirited bidding. A full yarding of fat and boner cattle sold under steady competition with prices in all sections firm at late rates.

A good yarding of fat pigs, and a light entry of slips and weaners. A feature of the yarding was the number of pens of baconers, for which the demand was very keen. Prices were fully up to late rates, best baconers realising to £4 6s. Porkers also showed an improvement on recent sales.
