SCHOOL CONCERT.
There was a large attendance at the Turua Public Hall on Thursday, 20th inst., when the local school children gave a display of dancing. A large number of the children were in fancy dress. After the Grand March the following items were given by the, children, under the able supervision of the headmaster and assistant-teacher: — “Brighton Camp,” all children; “Shoemaker,” Standards; “Poor Jinnie,” Primers and Standards I and II; “Peascods,” Standards; . “Nuts and May,” Primers and Standards I and II; “Skipping Circle,” Standards; “Rufty Tufty,” Standards; Musical Chairs,” Primers and Standards 1 and II; “Ribbon Dance,” Standards; “Oranges and Lemons,” Primers and Standards I and II; “Black Nag,” Standards., At the conclusion of the children’s programme, Mr Vause thanked all who had helped towards making the function such a success. After supper the adults took the floor for dancing, music being supplied by Mrs Mules, Miss Parley, Mr, Robertson, and Mr Dando, while Mr M. Madgwick acted as M.C.
