PAEROA MAN INJURED.

KICKED AT FOOTBALL. NOW IN CRITICIAL STATE. Mr Melville Irwin, aged 20, son of Mr James Irwin, of Komata, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital last evening in an unconscious state as the result of being • kicked on the,, head while playing football at Auckland on Saturday afternoon. At an early hour this morning he was stiU unconscious and in a serious condition. During the game he was kicked on the head and had to go home suffering from concussion. This passed off and on Saturday evening he attended a dance. On Sunday he did not show any signs of his injury, and after attending a church service in the evening, .visited the house of a friend, where he lapsed into unconsciousness. Under medical attention he revived for a moment, but as his condition became worse, he was admitted to the hospital at 9.45 p.m.
