MASONIC LODGE.
Ladies’ Evening. A very ei j >yab!e Ladies’ Evening, promoted by the local Masons, was held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday last. The hall was comfortably filled with a crowd of old and young out to have a good time and without doubt they bad it. The duties of M.C. were in capable hands of Mr J. T. lUck. who spared no puins to keep things going with a good swing, and he succeeded in creating such h spirit of good-fellowship that it was with great regret that the gius-s realised that the arrival of the small hours of the mon ing made it imperative that heme should be sought in order that energy should Le restored for the duties of the coming day. The amusement provided was varied. Songs, recitations, dances and competitions took up the greater part of the evening. Some very excellent numbers were rendered, but the names are not available. About ten o’clock an adjournment was made to the refet tory, where the stewards and their helpers really excelled themselves and the good feeling which had been steadily growing in the Parish Hall reached its height.
